I had the UD pulley on for 100,000 (one-hundred-thousand) miles. I used Mobil1 10-30 for 75,000 miles; I don't think either one of those is your issue. You should get less mpg with a swap. The lower compression of a TT engine is less effiecient. If you do 3" exhaust, etc, maybe you'll break even, dunno. I averaged 21.5 mpg over 10's of thousands of miles NA, I average 20.5 TT. You can get stock bearings in many sizes, nothing special required. And if the crank is not damaged, no need to do anything to it.
